Senan’s fascination with the Titanic began at a young age with the thought that such a wondrous creation could go down on her maiden voyage by striking an iceberg. His interest was then ignited by reading the book A Night to Remember and the deal was sealed after discovery of the wreck in 1985. Senan’s first endeavor into Titanic history and research started when he discovered that the full Irish passenger list from the Queenstown port of call was full of errors, and made it his mission to correct the record and restore the names of these Irish passengers.
Senan is considered one the world’s experts on the disaster and has been involved with a number of television documentaries on Titanic including: “The Real Jack Dawson,” about the real-life version of the Leonard DiCaprio character in James Cameron’s 1997 movie Titanic. He’s the author of several factual Titanic works of history, including: The Irish Aboard Titanic, A Ship Accused, Titanic: Victims & Villains, and Titanic Scandal: The Trial of the Mount Temple. Senan has been a working Irish Journalist for over 30 years and is currently the Political Editor of the Irish Daily Mail.
