Andrew’s fascination in the story of the Titanic began at a young age, and the catalyst for his interest was Clive Cussler’s Raise the Titanic. Andrew is now widely regarded as one of the leading experts in the world on the sale and authentication of Titanic memorabilia. He has been instrumental in the auction of the three most valuable archives of Titanic material ever to be offered for public sale: The Wallace Hartley Titanic violin collection at over $1.7m, First Class Steward Edmund Stone’s personal archive which sold for $700,000, and a 32ft long plan of the Titanic that was used at the British Titanic enquiry at $350,000.
He is co-owner of his family’s auction business, Henry Aldridge and Son, who are regarded as the leading auction house in the world in the sale of Titanic and Ocean liner material. Andrew has consulted with museums and authors around the world and has appeared as an expert on The Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America and the BBC. He’s regarded as one of the leading authorities in the world on Titanic and White Star Line Memorabilia.
